I have been thinking about a new essay for a while touching to the 16th and 17th century Istanbul, especially about Galata and Pera based on three books as follows.

• Osmanlı’da Bir Köle -Brettenli Michael Heberer’in Anıları (Kitap Yayınevi)
• İstanbul’daki Venedikliler (Eric R. Dursteler — İş Bankası Yayınları
• Türk Mektupları (Busbecq -İş Bankası Yayınları)

Not only since it is quite exciting to contemplate the that era but also trying to understand the problems of the people living those ages would contribute our perspective, is important.
